- One Pair of Scissors - please buy a Stainless Steel (Blunt / Sharp)bandage scissors. Not the tiny, foldable,easy to rust type of scissors.
- One Pair of Forceps - please buy a Stainless Steel (Blunt with teeth)type Cheaper ones the plastic type - the ones in the disposable dressing sets.
- One Kidney Dish - Stainless Steel and there are also plastic type. The smallest size will be better so that it can fit your first aid kit.
- Two Disposable Aprons - Usually sold in a packet of 100's . White in colour.
- 12 packets Sterile Cotton - but that amount is a lot, usually 10 cotton balls per packet. Or you can buy a big roll and roll your own cotton balls. But ensure your hands are clean and pack them in small tiny plastic packets so that they don't get dirty !
- 12 packest Sterile Gauze - again the amount is a lot please buy different sizes 5.0cm X 5.0cm, 7.5cm X 7.5cm &10.0cm X10.0cm. They come in 8 ply or 12ply - means layers. Usually buy the cheap one's will do can save money. For sure the sterile one's are expensive. If you buy the paper packet ones in 50's or100's. You can pack them in small plastic packs.
- 12 roller bandage - sizes of 1", 2"& 3" = 4 each. It looks like gauze. Somecall it WOW Bandage.
- 8 Triangular Bandage.
- 2 Crepe Bandage 2" & 3" - it comes with clips easy to fasten.
- Safety Pins - 12 pcs different sizes.
- One Small Torch - preferably Pen Torch. Always make sure they are with batteries !
- Elastoplasts dressing - 1/2", 1" ,2" . The actual type comes in rolls butbetter use normal Handy - plaster that comes in a box with different sizes and shapes.
- Adhesive Plaster - Have two rolls1/2" & 1" with dispenser. The best quality ones are the 3M Surgical Tapes(blue dispenser). Even though you finish the tape you can always buy the tape without dispenser and reuse the old ones.
- Sterile Normal Saline 10mls - 2 bottles
- Povidone / Flavine - 1 bottle(yellow colour)
- Savlon Lotion - 1 bottle . You can even use dettol. Ensure it is not cream but lotion.
- 4 Pairs of examination gloves- two sizes or more (you can have more gloves)pack them separately according to sizes and label them.
- Protective Face Shield - to be used during CPR.
Every division are required to check your first aid kit content whether the content is sufficient or not before you take it out for any public duty and please keep it clean and tidy all the time. Thanks for your co-operation, we will appreciate it.
